HOW THE TOOL WORKS

Compare the Watts processes your .fit files in your browser. Your ride data is not uploaded to our servers as part of the normal comparison workflow.

For standard comparisons, the app reads the file name and the fields needed to power the tool, such as time, power, cadence and left/right balance. Other data in the file is ignored unless you choose features that expose additional fields in the browser.

ANALYTICS AND COOKIES

We use Google Analytics to understand how the website is used and to improve the site.

Google Analytics is only loaded after you accept analytics cookies through the cookie banner. If you reject non-essential cookies, Google Analytics should not run.

You can update your choice at any time using the Update cookies preferences link in the footer.

ERROR MONITORING

We use Sentry to monitor site errors and diagnose technical problems.

If the site hits a processing error, Sentry may receive limited technical information needed to investigate the issue, such as browser context, error details and some file metadata. We do not intentionally send your full ride data to Sentry.

DOWNLOADED AND IMPORTED FILES

If you choose to save a comparison as a .ctw file, that file is created in your browser and downloaded to your device. If you later reopen a .ctw file, it is read locally in your browser.

THIRD PARTIES

The site currently relies on third-party services including Google Analytics and Sentry. Those providers may process technical data in line with their own terms and privacy notices.

YOUR RIGHTS

If you are covered by UK GDPR or EU data protection law, you may have rights to request access, correction, erasure, restriction or objection in relation to personal data we hold about you.

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. Any updates will be posted on this page.
